Spring Island is a 3000-acre coastal Sea Island nature preserve and residential community island in Beaufort County, South Carolina. It consists of a diverse mixed hardwood, loblolly pine and live oak forest interwoven with waterfront homes. Its unique micro climate and isolation has given rise to the naturalization of many different species of trees that are not seen anywhere else in the area including white oak, bluff oak, tulip poplar, ash, tooth-ache tree and elm.
