Historic Beaufort Collection

The wood pieces presented in this collection were harvested from a recent grounds renovation at Tidalholm, an Antebellum home site built in 1853, located on the banks of the Beaufort River in the Historic "Old Point” area of Beaufort South Carolina. The mansion has been made famous through its appearances in such films as The Great Santini and The Big Chill, movies adapted from the novels of Pat Conroy.

Turquoise powder has been utilized as both an artistic accent and a stable filler for some natural checking and cracks.

All of these bowls have similar characteristics but each one is unique to itself. Subtle hues, sealed wound-wood with compartmentalized decay, irregular bark retention and insect galleries make each of these as individualized and different as you and I.

20% of all sales from this collection will be donated back to The Historic Beaufort Foundation.
